     Address of Mother Immaculata to Chapter Delegates

The important days of our First General Chapter come to a close.  It was a joy for me as well as for all the participants and for the whole Order that so much prayer and blessings accompanied the actions of these days and that all proceeded with so much peace and security.  Mary these days, accompanied by God's blessing, build a new step for the building up of the Kingdom of God, for a rich and blessed work in the mission field, for blessings on and for the sanctification of all the members of our Order, and for the salvation of souls.
And now, go forth courageously into your own field of endeavor and carry the love and blessings in abundance into your own communities and your own houses, and from there into the whole world.  Our goal shall be that God may be loved and souls be made happy.  For this we will not shun any hardship or sacrifice.  The world shall know us by our love as we knew the first Christians of whom it was said, "See how they love one another."

                   One bond must all unite, One spirit must fill us all,
                   One goal is before our eyes, One heaven awaits us all !

So now, go forth and tell your beloved Sisters in the North and in the South that all of us who have come together for this First General Chapter have promised in their name to be faithful to the ideals of our Order:

     As children of Mary, under her banner, to live and to work for souls, for the innocent;  As true children of St. Francis, to live as he lived, "poor like Christ and rich as He."  We want to be poor with the poor and for the poor.  Therefore we will live and act like the poor.
